Michael R. Wood, Photographer
Michael R. Wood has been a serious photographer for 35 years. He studied Photojournalism and Communications at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Michael was the first freshman photographer to be recruited to the photo staff of the Daily Universe newspaper, and the weekly Monday Magazine, where his images were published several times per week. He won awards for investigative photojournalism and BYU Photographer of the Year (1976) for his photo essay on the American Fork Training School for the Monday Magazine.
Michael has worked freelance and in his own studios throughout his photographic career. You can see a recent production stills gallery Michael shot here, and the production's official website here. He also accepts assignments for news events, having been published in a number of newspapers, magazines and websites.
Michael shoots in the photojournalistic style; however he is equally at home making formal photographs and portraits of people and events. Architecture photography is also part of Michael's repertoire, enjoying modern and ancient buildings, ghost towns and historic sites.
